What are some of the most highly anticipated horror movies due to come out in 2016?  Here's a sneak peek at some of the more interesting entries in the horror genre you can expect to see next year.  They include the return of a couple of iconic horror characters from the past.  Hint...mark your calendar for Friday, May 13th, 2016.

The Forest

Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones stars in this movie about an actual place in Japan called the Aokigahara Forest, where people go to commit suicide. Dormer’s character enters the forest to search for her missing sister, only to find the menacing tortured souls of the dead.

The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist

The real-life paranormal investigators from The Conjuring return for this sequel. Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate supernatural activity in a house in London, England, where two young girls are said to have experienced poltergeist hauntings in the late 1970s.

Friday the 13th

This will be the 13th movie in the famous horror series. Horror fans have been impatiently waiting for this one to get finished (there have been some delays). Insiders promise that the movie will finally explain why Jason never dies.

The Boy

Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead stars as an American nanny who is more than a little surprised that the child of the British couple who hired her is actually a life-size doll. Hmm…did we mention that their real son died 20 years ago?

6 Miranda Drive

Supposedly based on actual events, this upcoming movie starring Kevin Bacon is about a family that returns from a vacation to the Grand Canyon with some sort of supernatural force in tow that wreaks havoc on their lives.

Leatherface

Yes, that Leatherface. This is a highly anticipated prequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre that traces Leatherface’s origins as teenager Jackson Sawyer, who escapes from a mental institution with a group of other inmates…and a kidnapped nurse.
